Bio

Jake Zuurbier, born in 2002, is a multifaceted Dutch author and artist whose creative endeavors span writing, photography & painting. As the founder of Apollo Imperium, he has established a platform that reflects his artistic passions. 

In literature, Zuurbier is recognized for his innovative narrative techniques and unique perspectives. His debut novel, “The Detective,” published in February 2023, offers a modern and off-beat twist on classic murder mysteries. His second book, "Erisseth," released in January 2024, delves into themes of magic, love, and betrayal, showcasing his versatility as an author. His third, published in 2025, is a queer romance/drama.

Beyond writing, Jake's artistic expression includes painting and sketching, with his visual art characterized by a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary themes. His works vary from realism to abstract. His photography reflects his keen eye for detail and composition.

Writer

Jake Zuurbier is an author who usually writes works of fiction. He is most known for his play with perspective and different narration styles, which makes each of his books unique in most every way. Born with a pen in the hand and typing with the other, he has written stories since he knew how to write.

His first book, "The Detective", was published in February 2023 with Apollo Libraries. Ever since, he has been writing and creating new stories, bringing forth his second book "Erisseth" in Januari 2024, on which he started in 2016. It has since gotten a rewrite (and re illustrate).

Because of his background in Business and Management, he started the company Apollo Imperium, an online books and art store . This ensured that his works could be published whenever he pleased, in the way that most fitted the books.

Erisseth

• Synopsis: Five years after losing her best friend, Mikiya wakes up in an unfamiliar world. When she learns she is part of a prophecy, she sets out to save the world–and herself. Fighting curses, her new friends (and lovers), and learning more about her own past than she signed up for, Erisseth is Zuurbier's first fantasy novel.

The Detective

• Genre: Mystery/thriller

• Published: Februari 20th 2023

• Synopsis: When Mike, a washed up writer, falls and hits his head during an alcohol fueled writing session, he wakes up inside his own novel–the bad one, where he hadn't thought of an end yet–with characters based on his ex and her new boyfriend.
