Jake Zuurbier, born in 2002, is an author with a broad background. With two degrees, Business and Management, his work in writing is combined with a business in books and art, though more things like home decor and meditations are included. Outside of Apollo Imperium, he has worked jobs in retail and horeca, ranging from working in a kitchen of a hotel-restaurant to a floor manager position in a clothing store and in a refugee center.

In his free time, he is just as occupied. Weight lifting, creating art & photography, kickboxing, cooking and reading are amongst his hobbies. Jake's artistic expression includes painting and sketching, with his visual art characterized by a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary themes. His works vary from realism to abstract. He enjoys using oil pastels most, but always tries to broaden his skillset and style by creating across mediums and styles. Besides art, his photography reflects his keen eye for detail and composition.

As an author, the larger part of his works are fiction. He is known for his varying genres and writing styles, as he likes to write from different perspectives and does not enjoy writing within a formula. His works, thus, are never the same as the last. His favorite genres to write in are fantasy, mystery and science fiction, though through "Darius", he grew to enjoy writing romance, too. Most (but not all) of his works include one or more queer characters. He enjoys creating the artwork for the books as much as he does writing them.

His debut novel, “The Detective,” published in February 2023, offers a modern and off-beat twist on classic murder mysteries. His second book, "Erisseth," released in January 2024, delves into themes of magic, love, and betrayal, showcasing his versatility as an author. His 2025 release of "Darius", a queer romance/drama, has only proven his dedication to creating stories in diverse genres and writing styles.

Because of his background in Business and Management, he started the company Apollo Imperium, along with the sports store and -website Sporttonix. This ensured that his works can be published whenever he needs them to be, in the way that most fits the books. But Apollo Imperium does not just publish his work, it hosts a number of independent artists and authors too. With the website, furthermore, he could also share what he learned through trial and error about writing and business with people visiting the website by creating the writer's guides and business courses and articles.
